Client Testimonials

Project Date: July 2015
Project Price Range: more than $100,000

"Pat designed new patios and landscaping for my backyard and it is spectacular. This was a major project incorporating 3 patios and a relatively large area that needed to be totally redesigned. The dead lawn was replaced with drought tolerant plants and Pat incorporated texture, color and variety. She clearly understood my taste and created a garden which complements this very contemporary home. She designed two new patios to take advantage of views and created a planter which adds architectural interest to the home. It was a true pleasure to work with Pat who listened, was sensitive to taste and cost and who worked well with my contractor and landscape installer. I now have outdoor living space that everyone enjoys using, almost like adding a room, and which offers an artistic backdrop to look out upon."

Pat Brodie design did a phenomenal job on our landscape design for our house rebuild (Jesusita Fire). We were impressed at the time with the quality of the work and the dedication Pat Brodie showed to our project. Now after watching the landscape 'fill in' over the last few years, we are in awe. Pat Brodie's 'vision' for our landscape is masterful. The way the design compliments our home is magnificent and has helped land our home in magazine profiles, and in the Architect's Association tour of homes. Pat Brodie was also a pleasure to work with, before, during and after our home was completed. The value she added to the final result was exceptional and truly is award winning. We would strongly recommend Pat Brodie to anyone who wants a creative, innovative, and aesthetically pleasing landscape for their home."

"We hired Pat Brodie after we had hired another landscape architect, which turned out to be a disaster. That made Pat's job more difficult as we had already started the project. Pat has great vision and is very detail oriented. Pat thinks of things that a homeowner wouldn't, until of course the project is complete, and it's too late to change things. Pat listens to what you would like as a homeowner & then has the knowledge to let you know if it's something you should go with or because of the terrain or soil, will let you know what will really work & what you can have & stay within budget. We had a very long drawn out project that included hardscape such as an outdoor fireplace, built in kitchen, stairs leading to the lower level, and a beautiful garden & Pat was with us through it all. I quickly learned to trust Pat & I would just say, "What does Pat think, that's what we will do." Pat not only has the expertise, but she's been doing landscape design for many years, so she also has solid contractors that she's worked with in the past that makes completing the job so much easier. Our project turned out to be quite beautiful & the garden blooms at different times throughout the year, & it's a joy to watch & a peaceful place visit & it would be none of these things without Pat. I highly recommend Pat, she's trustworthy & quite simply, she knows what she's doing. The only bad part about our completed project is that I don't get to work with Pat anymore, but we think of her often, every time we visit our beautiful backyard."

Project Date: January 2012
Project Price: $50,000 - $100,000
"Pat Brodie is an extraordinarily talented landscape architect, the best I have ever worked with. She has the rare ability to create something magical and unique all the while paying attention to our interests, budget, and timeline.

Pat listened to what we wanted, developed the plan, incorporated our feedback, and presented it to local review boards. She is so knowledgeable about vegetation, practices, and resources in our area. We first reached out to Pat about plants and then, when we realized just how talented she was, broadened into stone walls, stone benches, and other hardscaping. As our builder staked our new home on the available building footprint, she came up with better positions and designs of our outdoor structures. Her style and color sense is so impeccable that I turned to her when finalizing our home's stucco color and other design considerations.

Two other things make Pat stand out. She is available for the big projects, small ones, and for questions. And she comes on site often rather than drawing or managing from afar. Those two attributes made the entire process a real pleasure."
